Girls rock!!!

Diwali always comes with;
Crackers...
Sweets...
New Dress...
Special Programs in television...
And the much awaited and anticipated...
Diwali movie releases...

Diwali, 2011 was no different in general...
Yet it was so different to me in particular!
©       I could not buy crackers because it was late when I left office. And, rain happened to follow me. So, I had to drop the plan of buying crackers
©       My brother's marriage got over only a couple days before. So, none at home had time or the interest to make variety of sweets. So, we stuck to just one - the Rava Ladoo (Our family's favorite!!)
©       I did have a new dress. But, I felt too lazy to wear one and step out!!
©       Could not watch any of the special programs in Television. One, because there were too many commercials to bore anyone. Besides, I did not have the patience to wait all through the oh-so-boring advertisements. I mean who in this world is going to believe that one can become fair in seven days on using a particular cream or that the hair will become silkier on regular use of certain shampoo!!!!!
Thus, all I was left with was the burning desire to watch the Diwali release movies at least!!

Bhodhi Dharmar...
A R Murugadas...
Concept of traces of the characteristics of forefathers in DNA...
Debut film of Sruthy Hassan...
Chart busters songs...
(Though I was not awed)

Above all....
The ever-charming and too-good-looking Surya...
Equally charming villain named Johnny Tri Nguyen...

On the very next day, myself, Eechu and Chammi (This is how I call them!!) planned to go for the movie. We had no other option but to watch the 5pm show. However, the movie had started half an hour before!!

On the insistence of other two - in spite of my warnings - we decided to watch the 7:30pm show!! We waited and we waited more. The crowd got thicker in each passing minute.

The darkness of night...
Smell of cigarettes...
The never stopping stares and glares at us...
"Akheli ladki khuli hui thijori ki tharah hoti hain" (which means, "a lonely girl is like an open treasure"), the oh-so-famous Jab We Met movie dialog kept ringing in our ears...

Finally, after waiting in front of the gate for more than an hour, we decided to go to my home - the safest and the best place to hang out!!!

Of course, the decision was taken after a long discussion on;
Why a girl (or even three for that matter) can’t go out for a second show movie??
Especially, if the place is a small town - Very unlike the metros...
Won’t girls like to have the same fun as the boys do??
Or were we just imagining things??
Were we over reacting??
May be we are brought up that way...
May be we are made to believe that we are brought that way!!!
Either ways...
We ended up at home...

Watched the funny, crazy and never once boring movie - SOCHA NA THA!!!

Literally, Socha na tha!!!! (Which means, "Didn't think so" in Hindi)

Socha na tha...
That we would spend a night at my home...

Socha na tha...
That we would enjoy it completely...

Socha na tha...
That we would plan a tour from office...

Socha na tha...
That we would be awake till 3am in the morning....

Socha na tha...
That we would giggle and gossip so much and for so long....

Socha na tha...
That I would blog so long...

Socha na tha...
Even our 6am Arivu failed to give a clue on what was about to happen...
So... Can’t expect an 7am Arivu!!!

Hey friends...
You rock!!!

Hey girls...
We rock!!!
(Though within the limitations and constraints!!!)
