I Cut Cake...

Parents clap and sing
Happy Birthday to you child
I cut cake; childlike

I cut cake; childlike
Though I have grown up years-wise
But some things don’t change

But some things don’t change
And that makes our life special
And people special!

    I love the repeated lines, and how they help the poem progress down the page. Cool format. Love the cake and the childlike grownup too - the only kind to be, in my humble opinion!
