oday I want to ask
you something...
Do you feel
attached to little things in life? I mean do you hold strong emotions towards
certain things and because of which you are still treasuring them... Unmindful
of the passage of time... Regardless of how old you are now...
Why I am asking
this, I don’t know...
What prompted me to
ask this, I really don’t know...
But I just wish to
know...
Do you still
cherish that uniform you wore to your school... That first pencil box gifted by
parents... That first doll... That first gift from your loved one... That li’l
keychain... The mobile phone that you bought after saving for what seemed like
an eternity... That anklet and bangle that you wore as a child... That old
sketchbook... All those diaries holding your immature scribbling... That pen
with which you wrote that exam which changed your life and identity forever...
That wristwatch...
That black metal chain... That silver ring... That green colored hair ribbon we
wore to school... That pair of sunglasses we wore as a child... That tiny
little pink shoes which makes noise when we started walking for the first
time... That first poem dedicated to our parents... That rakhi from our
sister...
Yes... I really
want to know; rather I persuade you think...
Do you still hold
something like this... Something very special... Something so special that
though it is ragged and rusted remains as the most cherished possession...
Strain your brows
and put on your thinking cap... The more you think the more things will come in
mind...
Alas!
There might also be
some objects that mommy threw away as a part of cleaning home... That you
misplaced something... That you angrily threw away... Something that broke or
got damaged...
There may be many
such items... Things that were a part of our daily lives once... Things that
was a part of us... Things without which we never used to leave house...
Without which we seemed to be incomplete...
Oh! The list seems
endless...
The joy seems
boundless...
Little things these
are... Yet hold so immeasurable value...
Cherish them...
Celebrate life!
PS:
Wishing you all a very happy Republic Day… Praying that we all stay
united in spite of diversity and that sooner or later emerge as a Super-power!
Jai Hind!
