My Thoughts
A very simple theme – Three cousins in Bangalore – with so many
varied emotions. Each character is different and unique, yet so relatable. No
character is fully black or white; they are shades of grey.
What make Bangalore Days intriguing is its simplicity, and the
reality. A so-perfect Kuttan (Nivin), a maverick Aju (Dulquer) and a bubbly
Kunju (Nazriya) coupled with carefree Meenakshi (Isha), always-positive Sarah
(Parvathi) and struggling-to-move-on Shivadas (Fahad).
Bangalore Days is flooded with stars. And they pull off their
best! From their costumes to their dialogs, they fit into the character’s shoes
perfectly. They leave a mark in your little heart and when you leave the
theater, you carry a piece of them.
There are several laugh-aloud moments and Nivin has some of the
best scenes in hand. He shines! Sadly, Dulquer’s characters is almost same as
the character he essayed in Ustad Hotel and ABCD
– Confused young man who ends up becoming better. I wish he does something out
of his comfort zone. Fahad doesn’t has much to deliver, but when he does, his
pain shakes us off.
The background is good and songs could have been better. The
screenplay is impeccable. I never felt bored although it is almost 3 hours
long. With so many characters and intricacies, I feel that 3 hours is decent
enough and Anjali Menon has done a neat job.
And, my dear Bangalore is captured beautifully. It feels like
heaven, with all the greeneries and new-age building.
Go for the movie…
And enjoy the flavors it offers…
