More Than Love

I loved you with a love
That was more than love
But look at what I got in return?
Tears and more tears.
Until numbness spread;
And vacuum filled.
Now that love is gone…
And the pain it gave.
But I still feel punished.
After all, I am feeling estranged…
From myself!

  4. Interestingly enough the last word of your first line is "love", and the last word in your last line is "myself" ... you've come full circle, girl ... everything good starts with loving yourself, yes? ... Always, cat.

  5. Feeling estranged from myself. Perhaps is it not a feeling of remorse, admitting of the mistake. And the mistake I feel is trying to plead to be loved. Someone told me crying for love only increases beggary.

But then the lines are fine too here.

    1. Thanks Anil... I believe that crying and begging for love is the last stage when you know that it wont work out and you are just giving a one last try... So that tomorrow, it is easy to convince yourself and move on.

  8. I suppose that estrangement is in fact a questioning of what else could have been done. Hopefully that will pass and a feeling of cleansing and starting anew will take its place. How each of us must have felt this way at one time.

  13. Though we lose the love of others, we have to continue to love ourselves through all.

  19. love can take us away from ourselves...in pursuit we forget who we are...
and when love is done it can be so hard to find our way back
    to ourselve.s..

  23. What a shame! There are times unrequited love can be most damaging to the soul. Make up will be in order! Great lines Locomente!

  25. ah lots of love, lots of prince charming meets princess charming stuff, no matter how bad people expects that to happen, it never does, boz it never suppose to in the first place, u can fantasize abt it i mean yeah come on no body is genuine these days, its all made up personalities, and deep within there is always filth, you know can be in various forms like selfishness, or lust, or well i don't know em all so many i guess.

    1. That's a very cynical take to everything although the fact remains... What you give indeed comes back...Sooner or later... So, patience pays... Rather on a selfish note, such faith keeps us sane and happy...

Thanks for the perspective... Made me think :)
