I Walked

I was walking along a narrow lane. It was dark and scary. A lonely dog’s distant howls were the only sound other than my thumping heart and thudding steps.

It was a no moon day. The stars were hiding too for their friend was missing. Clouds followed me. But, they were velvety too.

I cursed the mighty Sun for leaving me alone. I cried within and tried to mask my misery. But, deep in my heart, I missed the mellow rays and the warmth it emanates. I missed those naughty times, when I used to give myself to the Sun and choose to be a silhouette; a mere shadow of myself consumed by the blazing Sun.

Then, I wished that the cool moon was there at least. Moon’s absence killed me and the silence pricked me. I tried to accept the fact that the moon is gone; faded over time. But, the crazy mind was reluctant. I missed the charming moon which is always cool like the blue. Always smiling and never complaining.

I sighed and looked up at the starless sky. I wished that they accompanied me and helped me kill the time. But, they were gone too. May be they are not interested in me anymore. May be, they are busy in their own worlds.

I continued to walk…

PS: Merry Christmas J

  3. Pretty well described. But then Xmas time nights are meant for starry and moon sky.

  4. We walk alone...hoping someone or something would make it better. Then sometimes we fall in love with ourselves and then need noone.
