Milk or Fabric Paint?!

T
here are some facts that you wish you never knew. Sometimes, it is easier to pretend that we are wearing blinders and thereby, move on in life. Many times, it is recommended not know how inhumanly human beings can behave!

Is it poverty? Or greed for money? I really don’t know.

Couple of days before, I was telling my team that I feel disgusted to have Pani Puri in Bangalore anymore. The reason being a viral WhatsApp video which showed that the Pani in Puri contains human urine. They said that such urine would make it tastier? I don’t know if they add instead of water.

That was when my manager startled me with another information. Being a person who spends lots of time in Railway stations and trains, I wish I didn’t came to know about it at all.

He showed me YouTube video which is a news coverage by CNN IBN. I showed that the tea vendors in Railway Stations mix white Fevicryl – Fabric paint in water. It gives water a milk-like texture. A tea vendor under veil was telling that instead of spending hundreds of rupees on milk, he needs to spend a mere INR15!!!

I mean really?

Where is human values? Why so much importance is attached to money than moral values? Where are we heading? Adulteration becomes a way of life and corruption becomes a religion that is followed by everyone irrespective of caste, creed or color.

Why do we fail to understand that what we give comes back to us?

Or am I being too philosophical when people fight their own battle to make ends meet… fill theirs and family’s stomach that they don’t care about anything but the present!?

Whatever be the reason, this piece of information shudders me…

  1. Not the pani poori's No no no no... that's shocking.
I stopped having Kalla khatta/Gola when I heard that the ice was unhygienic and was taken from hospitals, the slab where dead bodies are kept.
It's horrible to see what has become of human values.

  4. It's better to be careful on where we eat. The roadside vendors in railway stations, etc. don't have the possibility of repeat customers and hence maybe think they'll get away with anything. Restaurants, which depend on repeat customer visits, maybe better. Best is home cooked food.

    1. I agree with waht you said...
But, isn't it impossible to always have homemade food?
Being a regular/frequent traveler and as someone who stays away from home most of the times, I feel really sad that such adulteration exists.

  7. Whenever I see the burst of population around, the first thought that arises in my mind is how many of these have good human values.I really can not accept that just to make the ends meet, people stoop to this level, pathetic. I wish these souls regret once for what they did before they leave the earth for good.

    1. May be the concept of soul, moral values and good deeds sounds too distant to them...

  9. That is disgusting. May be that pani puri seller is a relative/friend of Mr. Morarji Desai. For health reason, Mr. Desai used to drink a cup of his own urine every morning. This is no secret. He admitted it openly. At least, he never tried to sell it.

  10. Woah....fevicryl in water to make it look like milk... wtf. Im slowly stopping restaurant visits. Food in restaurants are mixed with Baking Soda just to make it quicker. People buy dosa batter from marts and other shops. The batter is not hygienic at all. It contains Soda so that the batter ferments quicker and it can be packed and sent to the distributors. People innocently buy it and these things sell quicker than tomatoes. The company ends up making more money. Best thing is to make batter at home. The list is unending i suppose. You name it there is adulteration. The world is becoming more poor in values and richer with coins and money.
