From the book blurb
Physicist says ‘Biologically, love is a powerful neurological
condition like hunger or thirst, only more permanent’. A psychotherapist says
'Love has many guises'. A philosopher says 'Love is a passionate commitment'. A
romantic novelist says 'Love drives all great stories', A nun says 'Love is
free yet binds us'. The authors try to find out what is love from the people
who have experienced it. From common people like us. Based on true love
experiences, The Departing Point brings seven exciting journeys of love showcasing
different situations and circumstances where the travelers for some reason are
unable to complete the journey to reach the “happily lived together ever after
“ station.

What I think
The
cover page is very nice. It consists of a sketch of a boy and girl holding a
bunch of balloons each inscribed with the essentials of love. As the book blurb
rightly points out, this book is all about love.
Love
is an over-hyped four letter word. All thanks to books ans movies, our heads
are filled with several notions about love. True love wins, a person can fall
in love only once, it is alright to wait forever to conquer love and so on.
Deep within, all of us wish that our life is also like a fairy tale. We all
wish to fall in love and hope for a happily ever after. But, love is complex.
This book puts across this fact through simple stories. It reiterates the
importance of relationships and selflessness. It says that patience,
selflessness, compromise, trust, etc. are prerequisite for love. Whereas,
emotions like anger, jealousy, possessiveness, lies, selfishness, etc. can spoil
it.
There
are seven very short stories. My Last Letter
emphasizes the importance of relationships. It restates that at the end of the
day, money doesn’t matter. But people and nice memories do. Derailed-Salem Express conveys that love
is not just a four lettered word. It also reiterates the importance of
controlling both body and mind. Julie
Loves Me begins as a cute love story. As it progresses, it speaks about how
selfishness can kill a relationship. It tries to make us understand that love
is not a convenience or an easy cakewalk. It further requires that fake love
must be identified. Sometimes, all is not fair in love says Checklist Love. My Cinderella very
nicely narrates that life is not a fairy tale. It is important to understand
that unlike books and movies, life need not always have perfect/expected
ending. Na Paki na Gulab Nadir ko baksh
do Janaabis written like a play. Sometimes, it is better to let go and move
on, it says.
In
short, it is a tiny book with simple stories narrating complex faces of love.
It will not demand more than a couple of hours of your time. Try it!

to the Author for contacting me and sending across this book for review.
At least in some cases love is like milk.Afresh it is worthy and acceptable. But at the passage of time it gets decayed. So better love should be preserved in the packets of sincerity.Nice review,Satya.
