On the eve of wedding reception,
Prem (Vijay Sethupathi) is disheartened. Instead of feeling glad that he is
going to tie the knot to his lady love, he is worried about his dominating boss
and the bike that was stolen. He fears that omens are negative and looks lost.
Seeing this state, his three friends, Bagavathi/Bags (Bagavathi Perumal),
Balaji/Bhaji (Rajkumar) and Saras (Vigneswaran) decide to cheer him up. They
end up playing cricket. They fanatically play it. When Prem is in the verge of
catching the ball, he falls on the ground.
Thus begins the story. Prem has
forgotten one whole year of his life – Short term temporary memory loss because
of the injury in the medulla oblongata – He forgets his fiancé too!
How the three friends maintains
secrecy of the injury and conducts the marriage in good terms forms the rest of
the story.
The screenplay is swift and crisp.
Prem repeats same dialog is repeated again and again. The friends continue to
give mocked/confused/ridiculed/pitied/sympathetic expressions. And it is these
expressions that wins our hearts and keeps the audience glued to the movie.
Laughter is unavoidable and it is a
fun watch. All the four actors have done a brilliant job and the script acts as
the cherry in the cake.
The story is said to be based on a
real life incident of the director Balaji Tharaneetharan, who is also the
director of the film; the real-life Bhaji and actor Bhagavathi Perumal. Further
real-life Prem – C Prem Kumar is the cinematographer of this movie.
Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom is a
light-hearted film and an assured laugh riot. It released in November 2012 and
a complete fun.
