Nothing matters…
Neither the definition of our
relationship
Nor what others thinks about
us.
What matters is…
Love that still hold us
Together. Forever
Our hearts are connected
And we are trying our best
To retain us. To sustain.
Why would we do that?
If there was no love!
May not be a love-love kind of
love
But, we are slaves of love
United by comfort.
So that we always understand
the unsaid!
Excellent. Always understand the unsaid. That is true love.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot :)
DeletePretty honest.
ReplyDeleteyeah...no love love kinda love...well said Satya...it's a habit and who wants to miss the comfort of it? :)
ReplyDeleteCertainly not me Sumana...
DeleteThank you :)
Love by habit is better than no love at all...
ReplyDeleteWell, yes!
DeleteThank Bjorn :)
that last line is the clincher!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteBeing comfortable in love is a blessing.
ReplyDeleteAnd also a rarity...
DeleteThanks!!
love is a lot of work...this is seldom relayed in love stories....
ReplyDeletethree are periods of retaining/sustaining...keeping our love
at the center and not letting other forces pull it apart...
I think third stage is the toughest. That's why we get to see so many heart aches and breaks....
DeleteThanks Brian :)
Everyone has to define what they expect love to be for them. Understanding the unsaid is definitely a quality of love.
ReplyDeleteWell said Mary :)
DeleteThanks!!!
Interesting take on love. Well written.

Thank you :)
DeleteI enjoy love poems. This was very good.
ReplyDeleteThanks...
DeleteHappy!!!
"So that we always understand the unsaid!" Yes! There is this aspect to love that lasts. I was stopped for a minute by your use of the word "slave" here which has a horrible connotation in my life unlike "habit" or even "addiction."
ReplyDeleteThanks Susan...
DeleteGlad that it turned out to b relatable
we are indeed "slaves of love" ! so beautifully said... ill make my husband read this :)
ReplyDeleteLemme know his feedback too...
DeleteThanks!!!

DeleteThe ultimate test.
ReplyDeleteYes!!
DeleteWhat others think certainly should not define a relationship, except if we want everything to go wrong. And you ended your poem with a great closing line.
ReplyDeleteWell said.
DeleteThanks Gabriella :)
