My Thoughts
Regression therapy… Past lives… Reincarnation… Vengeance… and most
importantly love forms the basis for KV Anand’s movie Anegan. This presents
Dhanush in four different roles.
The screenplay flows with ease and has several unexpected twists.
Om Prakash’s cinematography brings different eras into life. Harris Jayaraj’s background
blends with the scenes. Except Donga Maai
Oodhaari song which is fresh, hummable and danceable, all other songs gives
the I-have-heard-this-before feel. Kanal Kannan’s stunts is brilliantly
choreographed where reflex action is the key; with almost no thinking time.
Needless to say, Dhanush gives his 100% and beyond. His innocence
as Munaruna, alertness as Ilamaaran, impulsiveness as Kaali and
happy-go-lucky-guy as Ashwin is marked well. He differentiates each character
not only with his wig/hairstyle but with acting skills and mannerisms too.
And, Dhanush I agree – Nee munnapola
ippo illa. Romba maaritte!
Amyra of Hindi movie Issaq fame is promising. She shares almost
equal screen space as Dhanush and have done a wonderful performance for a new
comer. Her lip sync is good and she looks cute. I loved her styling; very wearable! She is here to stay.
Karthik plays an unpredictable role. He has done a convincing job
and he also looks good. Ashish Vidyarthi in his famous cop avatar, Aiswarya
Devan (looked so like Tamanna) and Jagan have played their parts well too.
In spite of a different story-line and a perfect cast, the first
half was dragging. Other than that brief hiccup, the movie is a perfect
entertainment not only for you but for your entire family.
A V-Day feast.
Indulge!!!

I don't think I will see this movie, at least not in the theater :) I want to see two Tamil movies - Pei and Meghamean. Not sure if these two movies are still running here!
ReplyDeleteDestination Infinity
Many Tamil movies dont release outside Tamil Nadu anymore...
DeleteSo I watch them only when they are telecast in TV.
I heard that Meghaman is good. Not sure about Pei though.
