In a world of my own
I am connected to people
Every second. Every day
But, it’s a virtual world.
I crave for a companion.
I long for compassion.
I wish for a calming glance.
I pine for a comforting touch.
But, it’s just a virtual world.
There is no one beside me.
No one to fight with me.
Just no one!
I am tangled in a mesh…
Knotted by people.
But they don’t care about my world.
Like me, they are in their own too!
True , friend, L ... even a serious game can be virtual anymore ... Love, cat.
ReplyDeleteHaha.. True!
DeleteYes, Locomente!
ReplyDelete:)
DeleteVirtual happiness?
ReplyDeleteThats scary!
DeleteThe cold reality of the times we live in, sadly.
ReplyDeleteSad indeed!
DeleteNo doubt.. most people are caught up in their own world to care about anything else.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully penned.
Lots of love,
Sanaa
Thanks Sanaa :)
DeleteAh, the virtual world definitely cannot replace the real world...but through it one can also find 'real' people as well.
ReplyDeleteWishing you real as well as virtual happiness!
Thanks Mary :)
DeleteI think you have summed up the blogosphere perfectly Locomente - it is no substitute for physical relationships...but it has its place and value...i for one would be lost without it!
ReplyDeleteMe too to be honest!
Delete"But they don’t care about my world." this may not be always so...true connection brings that comforting touch from the virtual world too.....
ReplyDeleteI meant specifically the several friends we have in FB... Not all would be available at 3AM when we would need them! But I do agree with what you said.
DeleteBut at least he virtual world can be caring...
ReplyDeleteYes...
DeleteI agree - my online friends are as real and cherished as any other........but I remember when I was younger that very normal longing for a companion. Keep the intention out there and your heart open, and someone will wander in. Smiles.
ReplyDeleteHope so too...
DeleteThanks Sherry!
Yes the virtual world can feel lonely many days...and I wish for a friend to sit with me and sip tea!
ReplyDeleteDonna@LivingFromHappiness
Really... Nothing like that!
DeleteIt is sad when we lose that sense of real connection in whatever realm --beautifully penned!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot :)
DeleteThat is advanced civilization for you as we rely less on others we become more lonely.
ReplyDeleteLoneliness is the worst punishment then!
DeleteI think one can still find comfort in a virtual world - while searching for connection in the other world of reality..either world can still be lonely but, sometimes the unexpected happens and magic opens doors unseen.
ReplyDeleteThat hope keeps us going on!
DeleteA lament for this modern world. Authentic work!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot :)
DeleteOnline communication can be satisfying too though.
ReplyDeleteI agree!
DeleteBut can it match to the joy of having someone beside?
So sincere expression...some time one from the virtual world might wonder in your life too....
ReplyDeleteIndeed!
