Island I was
Surrounded by myself
Enwrapped in dreams.
Cocooned in a world of my own
I sang and danced.
I smiled and cried.
Until you came…
But when you left,
I didn’t like my little island
Its beauty hurts; so does its
perfection.
I don’t relate to them anymore.
Take me back to realty, my love
I am feeling suffocated!
U must have tasted Love ... smiles ... Always, cat.

Deletelife's aim is to be a butterfly so the quick we get out of the cocoon the better :)

DeleteSurrounded by myself.. does feel like that sometimes!
ReplyDeleteYes!
DeleteOnce we leave the island of ourselves it certainly doesn't seem so appealing to return to - beautifully put

DeleteThat first taste of real love eclipses all that we thought we felt before.
ReplyDeleteTrue!
DeleteOh suffocation... Maybe we should just dance without ties.
ReplyDeleteIs that possible?
DeleteSometimes, it is better to be alone in your little island, but love happens. Sometimes makes you happy, sometimes sad. You have crafted this really well.
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot :)
DeleteAh, after one has a taste of love that island, which had felt okay in the past, no longer has the same appeal.
ReplyDeleteBitter truth it is!

You have captured it exactly.........our once perfect island is no longer complete, once we have experienced love.

DeleteA cocoon opened, can never go back--beautiful writing!
ReplyDeleteThanks a lot!
DeleteRelationships and new experiences are fantastic things, but yes... the holes they leave when they are gone can be a killer. Your poem does a fantastic job as expressing that kind of loss.
ReplyDeleteThanks Magaly!
DeleteIt is really a torture to long for the sincere arms of a loved one, whatever the reason! Truly said Locomente!
