Ee Adutha Kaalathu

When you think right… Everything that happens to you would be right!
This is the bottom line of a mind blowing Malayalam film I happened to see yesterday…
EE ADUTHA KAALATHU…
A strar studded star of films!!

I am still smiling as I am typing this post…
The reasons are many…

To begin with…
One of the prominent characters in this film is Thiruvananthapuram..
This is where I am staying for almost a month now…
And I watched the movie from there…
Therefore I felt closer to the plot…
Thiruvananthapuram slang failed to sound alien to me.
Instead I was in ease with it!

To continue…
Unusually, myself with my team mates accompanied by our audit client went out for an evening walk.
The cool breeze and setting sun was a welcome relief for all of us.
While walking, we happened to notice the nicely structured huge houses.
But, most of it seemed unoccupied.
On enquiry, our audit client said that most of the houses are occupied by rich, yet lone senior citizens whose children are well settled abroad.
The description sounded horrifying that we ended up asking if theft is a regular activity.

To our surprise…
This movie’s base is about serial killing of rich, yet lone senior citizens whose children are well settled abroad.

A big THUMBS UP for the scrit writer Murali Goby. It is crisp and sharp. The editor has worked really hard to make the movie the way it is.

The first half was really interesting. I was wondering how the lives of so many people is going to crisscross; when it finally did, not just me, but almost all in the theatre applauded.

Indrajith Sukumaran is worth mentioning. His eyes depict the genuineness of his heart. However, his rugged looks let us suspect his innocence.

Anoop Menon comes in a cameo kind of role. And his mere presence motivates a potential movie buff to hit the theatre.

Nishaan comes out as a treat to eyes though his character in the film is not good enough. That further emphasizes that never go behind by looks!

I kept saying that the female protagonist – Tanushree Gosh – looks so familiar. The director has intelligently used that familiarity in her face and coined an interesting dialog in it

And…
I simply loved the way Rubik’s Cube is used as a prop through out the movie…
Also… The way the director has used books as a medium to show the mood of a particular scene.
From the screenplay to editing… And the style of narration… I have fallen in love with it..

This is a very intelligent flick…
A class!!
You have to watch it in order to experience it…

Malayalam film industry is pacing faster towards producing different genres of movies… A special apprteciation is essential to motivate the present and potential technicians. Success of such movies further explains that the Malayalam movie buffs are becoming more and more intelligent. Sometimes a simple story would strike a chord with you for being so simple. This is something like that…

A four and a half stars for this film…
Except for a drooping narrative in the begging at times…
This is an easy watch…
A must watch rather…

Enjoy ee adutha kaalathu
