I Know You Will Be There For Me

I know you will be there for me
In my happiness and distress.
But, I want you now
To balm my loneliness.

I know you will take care of me
When I am old and fragile.
But, I want you now
To celebrate life and much more.

I know you love me; care for me
And that it shall remain unchanged.
But, I want you now;
Here with me – to smile and hug!

  2. Beautiful. I loved this poem A few lines from a poem by Luther Vandross comes to my mind:

    Here and now
I promise to love faithfully (Faithfully)
    You're all I need

    Here and now
I vow to be one with thee (You and me), hey
Your love is all (I need) I need

  8. I read this as loving someone who lives a distance away, sure of their love, but needing the person closer by. An evocative poem of longing.

  12. Now is very important in any kind of relationship. Too much thinking of the future tends to forget what is currently needed.

    Happy Easter.
