Pillar of Determination

The sun was blazing...  Its rays were pricking.
I was sweating profusely... my foot ached intolerably.

A vacation during summer is a curse and my filthy job granted me leave only during summer!

So there I was...
Cursing my job... Life... Myself... Random strangers... The Super power... And who not!

And then I saw her...
Wearing a soldier’s attire; standing erect....
Regardless of seasons and unconcerned of others

A pillar of determination she was.

About what I was complaining, I wondered. She made me feel so small.

I took a deep breath...
Then I looked around...

The World smiled at me!

  1. I guess there's always someone worse off than oneself. A good take on the prompt. The World is smiling.
